About PotNotch®
PotNotch® began with a simple idea from my grandad, Jack — a shipbuilder on the Clyde who spent his days crafting wooden prototypes for the shipyard, and his spare time making toys and little inventions for the family.
Among his many creations was a clever little wooden hanger for flower pots. Years later, remembering that funny old design, I made a few of my own — and soon after, started selling them at Greenwich Market. That’s how PotNotch® was born.
Since 1999, we’ve been hand-making and selling my grandad’s original design, expanding the range over the years to include new ideas like our bird feeders and other garden products.
Each PotNotch® is made here in the UK from sustainably sourced FSC birch wood. Every piece is hand-finished, painted, and made to last — just as my grandad would have done.
More than 20 years on, PotNotch® remains a small family business, proud to carry on a simple tradition: good design, well made, with care.
